Skelton Taintor & Abbott has announced that the fifth annual recipient of the Skelton Taintor & Abbott Lewiston High School Mock Trial Team MVP Scholarship Award is Lewiston High School student, Matt Hird. He will receive a $1,000.00 college scholarship from the law firm as the recipient of the Most Valiant Player (MVP) award.
Matt Hird is the Senior Class President of Lewiston High School and serves as a student representative to the Lewiston School Committee. He was a multi-year member of the high school mock trial team, which was a semi-finalist in this year’s statewide competition. He hopes to study marketing at Bentley University in Merion, Pennsylvania next fall.
Skelton Taintor & Abbott was joined in making the scholarship announcement by Michelle Crowley, who is the teacher/coach of the mock trial team. Crowley noted: “Matt is a deserving recipient of this scholarship. He made a multi-year commitment to the mock trial program and demonstrated great leadership on the team. He has a strong work ethic and demonstrated tremendous growth as a member of the team. This scholarship award will help him attain his goals for college.”

Matt Hird is the son of Bill and Lisa Hird of Lewiston.
